Bishop Bernard N. Bragg...
is Senior Pastor of The New Life Restoration Temple Church, Inc. of the Beth-El Churches of Christ, in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland where he received both his Bachelor of Science degree and his Master’s degree in special education. He was united in holy matrimony to the former Beverly A. Williams on June 30, 1984.
Before his early retirement in October 2000, he worked in the Baltimore City Public School System as a teacher, department head and administrator. He is well respected throughout the system for his professionalism, Christian demeanor and dedication to motivating others to excel.
His spiritual metamorphosis began on December 23, 1973, at which time; he began his years of spiritual training and growth. This was accomplished under the guidance of his pastor, spiritual father and mentor, Apostle Robert Evans, Jr. Bishop Bragg has held numerous positions, faithfully serving the Beth-El Temple Church of Christ and later, the Beth-El Churches of Christ, Incorporated where Apostle Robert Evans, Jr. was Establishmentarian. click here for Beth-El Churches of Christ
Bishop Bragg was ordained in ministry on October 18, 1986. He served as the General Secretary and a member of the Executive Board for the Beth-El Churches of Christ since its inception in 1989. In October 1999, he was consecrated and ordained to the office of Bishop in Fayetteville, North Carolina, during the 11th Holy Convocation of the Beth-El Churches and assigned as diocesan of the 7th Episcopal diocese. In October 2000, after the passing of the Establishmentarian, Bishop Bragg was elected the new Presiding Prelate of the Bethel Churches of Christ.
In addition to his duties in the Beth-El churches, he has served on the board of directors of the Umoja House -a home for troubled youth. Presently, he serves on the board of directors for Healing Our Land Ministries - a ministry designed to facilitate the needs of HIV and AIDS victims and their families. He serves as spiritual covering for On Broken Pieces - a ministry birthed to touch the lives of hurting women. Bishop Bragg is a nominee for Who's Who Among American Pastors. He is also the CEO of the New Life Community Development Corporation. In 2002, the Bernard N. Bragg Ministries was established as a result of God's need to further extend the outreach of the 21st Centuty Church.
Bishop Bragg is an anointed preacher and revivalist and is most noted for his profound teaching ability. His mission is to edify, educate, evangelize and economically empower the community of believers through kingdom principles. He is admired by many for his love, work and dedication in kingdom building. He is an honorable man striving perfection and dedicated to leading God’s people, God’s Way. He is motivated by seeing the people of God grow in Him, prosper and dwell in the spirit of unity.
